Fans Fund Small Grants Scheme

Fans Fund Small Grants Scheme

The Premier League Fans Fund is a three-year commitment from the Premier League to fund projects and organisations which improve the relationship between fans and their clubs, the way football supporters engage with each other and fans’ experience of the game.

The Fans Fund Small Grants Scheme offers grants of up to £20,000 for projects that look to address the aims of the scheme.

Fans Fund aims

The three aims of the scheme are to:

  • Improve the relationship between fans and their clubs
  • Improve the way football supporters engage with each other
  • Improve fans’ experience of the game.

Project Criteria

  • The duration of a funded project would range from a one off event/campaign, to a project running over a period of three years.
  • Projects that strengthen the relationship between professional clubs and their fans will be favoured.
  • Applicants must discuss potential projects with, and have support from, associated Clubs before an application is submitted.
  • There are two tiers of projects:
    • Up to £5,000
    • Up to £20,000
  • Total project costs must not exceed £50,000.
  • Applications for a grant of over £10,000 will be required to complete a development plan.
  • Capital projects are ineligible.

Ineligible items include:

  • salary costs
  • travel
  • beverages
  • hospitality.

Innovative projects maybe be considered for travel costs.

Equipment costs will be considered on a case by case basis.

We have provided an example of a successful application for each tier of project for your guidance.
A Supporters Trust was awarded a grant to research engagement with three cohorts of supporters which hadn’t traditionally supported the club. The research would inform the development and delivery of a number of new initiatives to engage supporters. Ultimately the project would aim to grow the fan base and attract new supporters.
A supporters' action group was awarded a grant to extend the opening hours of a ‘Walk in Centre’ for supporters and increase the resources for volunteers, with the aim of improving the access and communication between supporters and the Club.

How to apply

  • Please contact fansfund@fsif.co.uk providing outline details of your proposed project.
  • We will then discuss your project with you and ensure that it meets the scheme's eligibility criteria.
  • If selected to proceed to a full application we will provide access to an online application form.

Note

The FSIF will accept applications for the Fans Fund Small Grants Scheme at any time. Projects can take up to 12 weeks in assessment.
