New look for Lichfield City FC’s ground

The Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF), supporters of the Football Foundation, and the largest funder of non league football in the country, today announced a grant of £20,000 to Lichfield City FC.

This award will enable Lichfield City FC to install 70 additional seats plus a covered stand for disabled fans as well as a 120 capacity covered stand for standing. The club will also be able to complete the perimeter path around the pitch.

Funded with £6m each year from the Premier League, the FSIF is the country’s largest provider of grants towards projects that help improve the comfort and safety of lower league football grounds in both the professional and amateur game. These improvements range from new football stands and turnstiles to floodlighting and improved provision for disabled supporters.

Darren Leaver, Lichfield City FC Chairman, said: “Without the FSIF we would not have been able to install these two new stands and complete the footpath. We needed these ground improvements to bring our facility up to the required standards of the Mid Comb Premier League.

“Lichfield City FC would like to thank the FSIF for all their help with this project.”

Peter McCormick, FSIF Chairman, said: “I am delighted that my colleagues and I have been able to award this grant to Lichfield City FC to allow them to add additional seating and provision for their disabled fans.

“FSIF staff work hard to make sure that the funding that is generously provided by the Premier League each year goes as far as possible and benefits as many clubs and supporters as it possibly can.”
